Cell morphogenetic processes occurring during plant development are crucial determinants of metabolic and mechanical functionality of mature organs. Through 4D imaging, computational modeling and micromechanical testing we can obtain a deeper understanding of the hierarchical architectural concepts underpinning metabolic processes.
