Ben Lehner awarded with the 2012 National Research Award for Young Talent
- The award is the top recognition in scientific research bestowed in Catalonia
The Government of Catalonia and The Catalan Foundation for Research and Innovation (FCRI) announced last 5th of November the winners of the 2012 National Research Awards. Ben Lehner, group leader of the Genetic Systems lab at the CRG and ICREA Research Professor, was awarded in the category of Young Talent.
The award recognizes those researchers with outstanding research careers and for the quality and excellence of their work.
Winners from other categories are:
- National Research Award: Carles Simó, PhD in Mathematics, for his social and economic implications of Mathematical research
- National Award for Public/Private Partnership in Research and Innovation: Henkel, Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ) and the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB)
- National Award for Scientific Patronage: Pere Basells for his diverse patronage programs in engineering.
- National Award for Scientific Communication: La Vanguardia, highlighting the scientific rigor and wide coverage of science news made by the journalist Josep Corbella,
