BIST- Leadership in Action for Postdocs
The “BIST- Leadership in Action” for post-doctoral researchers which has been exclusively designed by using VITAE’s framework in close collaboration with BIST-Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology- that will offer you the opportunity to focus on developing skills for successful self-management and development to progress in your professional career. The course is offered to 35 Postdoctoral researchers currently working at one of the BIST research centres (CRG, IBEC, ICFO, ICIQ, ICN2, IFAE, IRB Barcelona). Five seats will be open to external postdoctoral community.
BIST – Leadership in Action 2021 - Leading in strategy and culture in a research environment
The programme for 2021 has been redefined as online interactive programme to help you in developing your leadership skills in the current context of a research environment. We will explore leadership theory and apply it directly to the challenges that you have working as post doctoral staff. The programme starts with a one and a half hour session to meet your fellow participants, share your leadership challenges and set individual goals for the programme. Following that are four three hour workshops (with breaks!). I will introduce leadership theory related to the theme of the workshop and then you will work in small groups to critique and apply that theory. We will finish with reflecting on what we have learned and the challenges of applying the theory. These are interactive and practical workshops, so come prepared with your leadership challenges, your professional ambitions and a willingness to experiment. I'm looking forward to working with you.
