CRG Core Facilities Technology Symposium: Proteomics 2.0.10

Barcelona, Spain

Barcelona, 5th February 2010

Organised by the Centre de Regulació Genòmica (CRG)

Symposium overview
The term “Proteomics” was conceived less than two decades ago.  Although this term is covering an enormous field of research, the first years of proteomics where mainly focused on identifying proteins.  Today, it is safe to say that proteomics has entered into its 2.0 version, which in addition to simple identification of proteins includes global analysis, post translational modifications and quantitation.
From the very beginning, proteomics has been associated with mass spectrometry, and with this symposium we aim to present innovative and state-of-the-art mass spectrometry based tools used to dissect proteomes. For this purpose we have invited four brilliant speakers from academics as well as industry which will cover topics ranging from post translational modifications and quantitative proteomics to data analysis.

The symposium "Proteomics 2.0.10" is not only meant for researchers that are already on the proteomics path, but will hopefully be eye-opening to those that are still only playing with the idea of performing mass spectrometry based proteomics experiments.
