This course aims to introduce and explore the potential of Gen AI tools, specifically Large Language Models (LLMs) to simplify and optimize their work processes.
Participants will acquire practical skills in prompt engineering and fine-tuning GPTs for specific tasks.

Through theoretical discussions and hands-on sessions, attendees will discover how to integrate these tools into their daily workflows to enhance productivity

Topics that are going to be addressed: 

  • The Generative AI Boom
  • Benchmarking Large Language Models (LLMs)
  • Our Favorite LLMs: Features, Plans, and Levels of Confidentiality
  • Introduction to Prompt Engineering: The Next Essential Skill
  • Fine-Tuning GPTs for Personalized Profiles and Common Tasks
  • Practical Examples of AI Tools Enhancing Daily Workflows

          - Welcome and course objectives 
          - The impact of generative AI on research management 

  • Large Language Models and Benchmarking (20 minutes)

          - Overview of LLMs 
          - Benchmarking popular LLMs 
          - Discussion on plans and confidentiality levels 

  • Prompt Engineering (20 minutes)

          - Fundamentals of prompt-engineering 
          - Hands-on exercises in creating effective prompts 

  • GPT library and creation of GPTs for Personalized Use (15 minutes)

          - Examples of GPTs in RM 
          - Methods for fine-tuning GPTs 

  • Application examples for Research Management (30 minutes) 

          - Demonstrations and use cases with ChatGPT, Claude, and Co-Pilot 

Break (15min) 

  • Hands-On Session: Solving Your Own Challenges (45 minutes) 

           - Participants work on their own challenges using AI tools 
           - Guided support and feedback from instructors 
           - Presentation of results and group discussion 

  • Summary and Future Directions (10 minutes) 

          - Recap of key points 
          - Discussion on future trends and continuous learning 

Requirements: Please note that a ChatGPT Plus/Enterprise license is required. Kindly ensure that the passwords provided by your research group for the licenses assigned to each group are brought to the session. Should access to this license be unavailable, an alternative will be provided to complete the training.
