Child - and family - care travel support grant
Background
Balancing work and family remains a persistent challenge for the scientific workforce. The cost of such dependent care has been shown to inhibit participation of scientists to scientific events (e.g. conferences, workshops) and difficult other activities such as participating in scientific committees or going to job interview. Altogether this can have a non negligible negative impact on professional visibility as well as networking opportunities at critical times for the scientific career.
Purpose
The Gender Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee launches the Child - and Family- care Travel Support Grant that will complement existing CRG resources in support of work-life balance while promoting the career success of young scientists and research support staff. This program will enable early career researchers with young children to attend research conferences and meetings, or other professional scientific activities.
All CRG scientists (PhD students, postdoc, technicians, staff scientists, group leaders, team leaders, unit heads or independent fellows) and research support staff requiring child- or family-care at home or at the conference or research meeting are invited to apply.
