Isabelle Vernós elected to the Advisory Council for Science, Technology and Innovation
The Secretary of State for R&D in Spain established the Advisory Council for Science, Technology and Innovation, a representative body from scientific, entrepreneurial areas, as well as recognized unions, to advise the government on the development of the Strategy for Science, Technology and Innovation.
Isabelle Vernos, team leader of the Microtubule Function and Cell Division group at the CRG, is the only woman scientist on the board. Together with a team of 9 scientists, technologists and recognized entrepreneurs, and 4 representatives of the social partners (one still to be decided), she will advise the Secretary of State to determine the objectives and priorities of R+D public policies.

- Luis A. Oro, researcher at the University of Zaragoza
- Juan Rodes, researcher at the Hospital Clínico de Barcelona
- Jordi Ramentol, in representation of the CEOE
- Carlos Ruiz, in representation of the CEPYME
- Maria Salceda Elvira, in representation of the CCOO
- Francisco Javier Sanjuán, in representation of the UGT
