6th Call for Postdoctoral Fellowships Science by Women
Deadline September 30, 2020
The CRG will be one of the associated centres in the new call for Postdoctoral Fellowships Science by Woman, that the Women for Africa Foundation is launching, aimed at selecting 19 senior African women scientists to be integrated in 19 top research Spanish centres in the following areas: health and biomedicine, agriculture and food security, water, energy and climatic change. This means that 1 of the selected candidates will enjoy a six-month stay at the CRG.
Considering the exceptional challenge of the Covid-19 pandemic, some of the fellowships are focused on the research and innovation carried out by African women scientists from the diverse and interdisciplinary approaches.
So far 57 fellows have enjoyed six-month research stays which have contributed to enhance their leadership in scientific research and technology transfer. Out of these 57, Sarah Mwangi, Raquel Duarte and Elisabeth Kizito were the women scientists that stayed at the CRG in previous editions of this programme.
A presentation as well as the rules and guidelines of the call can be found here: https://mujeresporafrica.es/6th-edition-science-by-woman/
The program’s ultimate goal is to enable African women researchers to play a leading role in the transition of Africa to a knowledge-based and innovation-led economy, an objective share by the CRG, as well as by all the associate research centres to this programme.
The Women for Africa Foundation is a private entity aimed at contributing to the sustainable development of Africa through the drive of its women.
