CRG Internal Course: Statistics and applications to methylation 2022

Couse description:
Statistics and applications to methylation 
We look at the main bioinformatics concepts and software used to analyze DNA methylation data.
(focusing on Whole Genome Bisulfite Sequencing and Nanopore reads).

During the class we will write a tool to call differentially methylated loci and
differentially methylated regions and compare different possible approaches.

Objectives of the course:

• Basics of statistics for methylation (beta binomial distribution, regression on count data, etc...)
• Explorative methods for high throughput methylation measurements (PCA, smoothing, ...)
• Software for the discovery of differentially methylation loci and regions.
• How to look at Nanopore methylation data.
