10th CALL FOR POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIPS IN GENOMICS
The 10th call for the annual Novartis Postdoctoral Fellowships in Genomics - Centre for Genomic Regulation has been announced.
As every year, these grants seek to boost genomics research in Spain and they offer two-year contracts for the incorporation of postdoctoral researchers into the CRG laboratories. "We are very pleased to be able to support genomics research, an expanding field which is the key to the medicine of the future," says Alberto Duque, Scientific Director of Novartis Spain.
The selection process has just opened and will close on 1st September 2011. Candidates must have PhDs, research experience and at least three scientific papers published in journals included in the Science Citation Index.
The Novartis Foundation postdoctoral fellowships in genomics and the La Caixa Foundation doctoral grants are private initiatives for the training of researchers and the promotion of science of excellence at the Centre for Genomic Regulation. "The contribution of private funds is very important to the maintenance and improvement of the quality of research carried out in Spain," explains Miguel Beato, director of the Centre for Genomic Regulation. "We have to work closely with companies and foster a culture of scientific patronage in this country, if we really want to change the economic model and position ourselves as a benchmark on the international stage," adds Beato .
